Extras

On this page you will find special things that are unique to The Cabin and the Log Home Traditions experience.

Maple Syrup

In the late winter and early spring months Mervin can usually be found walking through the woods behind the house gathering sap from his Maple Trees. He takes this sap and boils it down in the "Sugar Shack" to pure Maple Syrup that can be bought there at the cabin.

The sap drains into these buckets from the trees during a run.

Inside the "Sugar Shack" these pans are on top of a big fire that boils the water out of the sap.

This is the boiling sap. The column closest to the right holds the sap that is just about ready to be finished off as syrup.

Eggs

Here at Log Home Traditions we feel that it is important to recycle. All of the scraps from plates are given to the many chickens that run around The Cabin and those chickens produce the eggs that are used in our baking as well as our meals. Rest assured however that you will never find one of these chickens as Chicken Cordon Bleu.
